DailySync ("we", "us", "our") operates the DailySync service at daily-sync.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights regarding it.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address via our authentication provider (Clerk). This is used to deliver your briefs and identify your account.

Preferences. Topics you add to Must-Reads, Discovery Themes you select, and Instant Brief queries you submit. These are stored to personalize your experience.

Usage data. Basic activity data such as login timestamps and delivery records. We do not track page views, clicks, or browsing behavior.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To generate and deliver your Daily Brief and Instant Brief emails
• To personalize content based on your chosen topics and interests
• To operate and improve the service
• To respond to your feedback and support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate DailySync:

• Clerk — Authentication and account management
• Resend — Email delivery
• Google Gemini — AI-powered content generation
• Tavily — News search and retrieval
• Cloudflare — Hosting, security, and DNS

Each service processes data according to their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function (e.g., your email address with Resend to deliver emails).

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data and preferences for as long as your account is active. Delivery logs are retained for up to 90 days. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — view your topics, interests, and delivery history in the app
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in every email
• Export your data — contact us and we will provide a copy

If you are in the EU/EEA (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have additional rights including the right to object to processing and the right to data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — for authentication and session management. We do not use analytics cookies, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies.

7. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, secure authentication via Clerk, and follow industry-standard practices to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

DailySync is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice.
